应付账款自动化方案
Stokes表示，构建应付账款票面自动化处理方案花费了大约七个月时间。应付账款团队最初引进了好几家RPA方案供应商，但最终选择了UiPath公司。
RPA方案的主要供应商UiPath公司提供了可以自动执行日常任务的机器人平台，并与提供计算机视觉和机器学习技术的供应商协作，使客户能够向机器人赋予更多的技能。
应付账款团队了解到自身还需要OCR供应商的支援，因此向RPA供应商寻求建议，据Stokes称，供应商最终推荐了Abbyy公司。
OCR和RPA技术
Abbyy首席执行官Ulf Persson表示，Abbyy是内容捕获和文档数据提取软件的长期供应商，与许多RPA供应商一直保持着合作关系。
Persson称，Abbyy可以通过一套智能文档捕获产品帮助RPA使用者实现“非结构化信息或半结构化信息带入【并转化】为结构化信息，并应用到自动化流程中。”
公司实际上有数百个流程可以或应该执行自动化方案。
Persson表示，Abbyy将传统的OCR和文档捕获技术与RPA和智能内容管理技术相结合，这将会触及更广泛的市场应用领域。
他说：“作为内容捕获方案供应商，也许会和20%的自动化企业开展合作。……现在，我们可以和100％的企业开展合作，这太令人兴奋了。”
Persson说，Abbyy可以为许多行业提供解决方案，因为几乎所有公司都可以从自动化方案中受益。

节省时间
Stokes称，Medline的现况的确如此；除了处理应付帐款发票的自动化方案之外，现金运营团队也在考虑实施Abbyy的方案。她继续说道，其他分公司也使用了流程自动化，但她并没未提及具体是哪家分公司。
她说，Abbyy的方案很有用，将Abbyy方案与UiPath方案结合使用可以节省很多时间；使用自动化方案后，处理发票只需要“总人数的一半”就可以完成。
但是，她的部门在使用Abbyy方案的最初阶段的确遇到了一些挑战。
Stokes说：“我们最大的困难是我们并没有意识到供应商数据库内容的重要性。”
她说：由于Abbyy方案设置的方式，它需要一个单纯的供应商数据库内容，如果发现重复的供应商，Training batches则无法被识别。
为了能够正常使用该平台，应付账款方案必须能够识别重复项，此问题需要加以修正，而这个过程花费了大约三个月的时间。
