Margin Note集成PDF/EPUB阅读器和多种学习工具，一贯旨在给用户提供卓越学习体验。中国学生每天大有大量的纸质材料需要拍照进行电子化笔记，如果需要等待一个较长的时间对每页都进行OCR后才能学习，会大大降低学习效率。MarginNote希望达成的目标是在学生进行笔记的过程中实时对所需内容进行OCR. 应用ABBYY解决方案前, 用户需要借助其他电脑上的OCR软件对PDF进行处理，处理成OCR后的PDF。过程耗时很长并使得电脑发热较高。
软件使用ABBYY Mobile Capture技术，将OCR过程植入用户的阅读学习过程中，在用户翻页的时候动态完成页面的OCR，生成页面的排版识别数据，使得用户可以即时开始对页面文本的提取和标注。OCR Pro功能成为MarginNote的关键特色之一。
